Stanozolol

Stanozolol, widely known as Winstrol, is a 17-alpha-alkylated anabolic steroid derived from dihydrotestosterone (DHT). It has strong anabolic effects while remaining relatively low in androgenic activity. The compound was first developed in 1962 by the American pharmaceutical company Sterling-Winthrop. Initially, it was used in medical treatments such as hereditary angioedema and was also researched for its effects on immune system markers in postmenopausal women.

Today, stanozolol is available in both oral tablets (Stanos) and injectable form. It is one of the most commonly used oral steroids, second only to methandienone. Oral Winstrol has a short active life of roughly nine hours, while injectable versions last much longer. Traditional injectable stanozolol is water-based and exists as a fine suspension rather than an oil solution, which gives it unusual release behavior. The effects fade gradually instead of dropping suddenly, and some particles may stay at the injection site for an extended time. To improve usability, oil-based injectable versions were later developed, allowing easier stacking with other oil-based compounds while maintaining strong absorption.

As a DHT-based compound, stanozolol does not convert into estrogen. Because of this, aromatase inhibitors are not required during use.
